After a couple of months use the left channel audio stopped working - the camera would only record the right channel only. It wasn't that big of an issue because I mainly used mono mics, however it did cause issues with advanced microphones like the Rode VideoMic Pro Plus and it's auto power on/off feature - basically it'd not turn on and sometimes auto turn off... Fast forward another few months and the camera decided to stop recording audio all together. So I finally sent it in for repair. THE PROCESS Over in Australia, you need to call up Sony, explain the issue - takes around 7 minutes. Then send them a copy of your receipt. Then an authorised repair centre contacts you. You can either print out the required documents or have them post you over a box and the docs printed out. You fill in the form explaining the issue and pack the camera without any extras, then arrange for pick up or drop off delivery. Originally I was quoted an 8 business day turn around, however my repair took 15 business days. So be prepared to be without your camera for a few weeks. On the positive I had to fly out to Sydney when the camera was due to be sent back and the repair centre allowed me to have my camera sent to my hotel - which was very helpful.
